Nature of Wires
Formed in 1986 by Gary Watts and Andrew Stirling-Brown, Hereford-based electronic band Nature of Wires toured regularly until 1994, playing a mixture of covers & originals; self-releasing their debut Modus Operandi album in 1993 and garnering interest from local media and fans.
In November 2014 and following a 20 year break, Gary started to compose music again. His newer output favoured a harder-edged, more industrial sound reflecting current influences such as Gary Numan, Combichrist, Alien Sex Fiend, CYFERDYNE and Deviant UK.
As well as producing his own material, Gary has collaborated with a number of new and established artists; most notably Maren Northway, otherwise known as CountessM – a prolific and respected vocalist and lyricist from Fullerton, California. With a background in opera dating back to the early 80s; Maren now focuses on more contemporary and less mainstream genres. She has recently worked with Real Experts, DEVILAND-SHY and ADirtyMind as well as providing lyrics, vocals and melodies for Nature of Wires.
With only a few single releases officially available, Nature of Wires & CountessM have developed a growing worldwide fanbase; gaining airplay on numerous radio stations including, a live performance and feature on BBC Introducing and top 10 positions on several ‘end of year’ charts for 2015.
