Amyl and The Sniffers are one of the most exciting bands on the planet right now, with the Australian’s raucous brand of pub-fuelled agit-punk striking a very apt tone in these fractured times. Get a load of the video for Some Mutts (Can’t Be Muzzled) for a flavour of what the commotion is all about.

There’s something unashamedly retro about their brash, thrashing style.  It’s loud, lairy and doesn’t care what you think about it.  It makes sure you get a piece of its mind though, and its anger. The straightforwardness of the sound occasionally blurs the musicianship on display and can distract from Amy Taylor’s awesome vocal presence; but maybe that just adds to the anarchic fun of it all.

Some Mutts (Can’t Be Muzzled) is from Amyl and The Sniffers’ self-titled debut album which is out now on Rough Trade Records, ATO Records and Flightless Records – click here for more information on how to stream and download the album.
