Sweden’s Be The Bear brings a delightfully fresh and vibrant feel to indie pop with her new single I Don’t Want To – check out this slice of perfect pop below.
There’s something wonderfully Scandinavian about the whole affair, but it still avoids so many of the clichés people ascribe to pop music from the Nordic nations. The blend of indie with electro tones is astutely balanced, an insanely catchy guitar lick sparring with a bright and airy electronic arrangement and of course, then there’s the vocals.
Think Maja Ivarsson meets Frida Sundemo and you’ve getting a flavour of how Christina Wehage hits that sweet point between rock edginess and pop innocence with considerable ease.
I Don’t Want To is the perfect song for those wild moments in the small hours, knowing and coy in equal measure.
