New Music: Daniel Avery – Slow Fade

  • New Music: Daniel Avery - Slow Fade

London based DJ/producer/musical genius Daniel Avery is prepping for us his upcoming sophomore LP Song For Alpha with the release of a new EP called Slow Fade. There’s also a mesmerising new video, directed by Flat-e to accompany the title track – check it out below.

Building on his critically acclaimed debut Drone Logic, Slow Fade continues to push the boundaries of techno and in fact electronica in general.

It’s ambient, slightly left field, but with elements of a club sound filtered, dissected and reassembled to give birth to something that has the explosive punch of a floor-filler and the subtle sonic nuances of a 5am chillout tune at the same time. Slow Fade is as complex or as simple as you want it to be, depending on your mood.

The Slow Fade EP is out now via Phantasy and is available in 12” vinyl and digital formats – click here to find out more. Avery’s new album Song For Alpha is due out 6th April and is up for pre-order right now. We’ll be off to see him DJing at Zutekh’s Manchester’s Soup Kitchen party on 2nd March!
