James Eary of Debris Discs says No Fear came about after raiding his old Coves & Caves demo tapes for inspiration. You’ll be glad he did after listening to the song below.

The song, described as ‘a personal struggle between giving into exhausted resignation or quietly taking a stand and believing in self-worth,’ has shades of Talk Talk in the densely packed arrangement and melodies. But there’s also a lightness and warmth that brings to mind 80’s indie and West Coast rock. With vocals that carry a similar emotional weight to Mark Hollis and Nick Drake, the complex web of emotions and rhythms are given time to breathe and come to life.

You can catch up with Debris Discs on Twitter, while No Fear can be streamed and downloaded on Bandcamp. More listening options can be found on the band’s Soundcloud page.

The debut Debris Discs album is due late 2020.
