New Music: Falaises – Boy

  • New Music: Falaises - Boy

French quartet Falaises have debuted in style with their first single Boy – a very tasty precursor for their upcoming EP due for release in October. Have a listen – or watch the video – and see what you think?

It has very Francophone, disco feel to it – it was mixed by Stephane Briat (Air, Phoenix, Depeche Mode), so has a certain enveloping, melancholic air, but takes a lot more from the more urgent and addictive indie-pop styles and genres.

Part Austra, part Killers, part Vessels; it takes that combination of indie and electronica to create a moody, magnificent slice of addictive pop.

Alice’s vocals are probably one of the most beautiful and haunting things you’ll hear on a track this year and they help take what is a great song in the first place to even greater heights.

Boy is out now on iTunes, Deezer and Spotify. You can hear the demo for another track called They are here on their Soundcloud page.
