New Music: Gangly – Drowning

  • New Music: Gangly - Drowning

GANGLY is the musical brainchild of some of the most influential, talented and prolific musicians in Reykjavik, Iceland: Sin Fang’s Sindri Már Sigfússon, Samaris’ Jófríður Ákadóttir and Oyama’s Úlfur Alexander Einarsson. Making quite a splash with the first track – the epic yet intimate Fuck With Someone Else, they’ve made an equally big impression with their own take on emotional electro. Bringing us up to the present day is new track Drowning which sees the trio weave yet another intricate musical piece of majestically moody electronica.

GANGLY’s music shows a sense of reserve and composure: their tracks are catchy, but unhurried, and each features sharp-eyed, meticulous production. “What I love about these slow jam pop songs we make is having a simple melody, that touches some strings,” says Úlfur. “I like to think about the spaces where one line ends and the next begins. That’s a very powerful space.”
