In the lead up to her new Take Off EP which is due out 21st June, Swedish musical allrounder Hildur Hoglind has dropped the moodily magnificent My Heart (Won’t Skip The Beat That It Should). Have a listen and you’ll know why we liked it so much.

The vocodered vocal intro puts you in mind of Goldfrapp, but the song is not a stompy electro-stormer. Instead, it takes some slinky electro nuances and merges them with an indie and folkish  sensibility, and most of all one of the most emotive, heartfelt vocal performances you’ll have heard for some time.

The Robyn influences are subtle, in fact Hoglind says they’re an intended as a tribute to the electro pioneer. But this song is very much its own special, sublime creation.

My Heart (Won’t Skip The Beat That It Should) can also be streamed on Spotify and Bandcamp. The Take Off EP which is out now. Catch up with Hildur Hoglind to find out about upcoming tour dates and more on her official Facebook page.
