Born in the Sun is the new single from Danish-Japanese artist IDA KUDO and sees her deliver an edgy but emotive vocal performance. Check the video out below and prepare to be entranced.

Kudo’s voice is very much the lifeforce of the song, while the blend of Gothic and tribal tones gives Born in the Sun a dark but engaging quality. It’s simple yet sublime, shades of light and dark creating the perfect platform from which Kudo’s vocals can take flight.

She displays a real sense of how to use her voice to add layers of meaning and occasional majesty. At times picking through the arrangement like a sparrow, at other times gliding over it like an eagle in the noon-time sun, the track feels like it was hewn from nature, raw and unbowed.

Released via Nordic Music Society, Born in the Sun is streaming on all major digital platforms – click here to find out more. IDA KUDO has played a number of the Ja Ja Ja showcases recently, but to keep up to date with gigs and new releases, be sure to check her out on Facebook and Twitter.
