New Music: Jarina de Marco – STFU

  • New Music: Jarina de Marco - STFU

Jarina De Marco has worked with Mark Ronson and Major Lazer in the past, and has teamed up with producers GTA to create her frankly bonkers and wonderful new song STFU – a track that sounds like it was born after a Brazilian favela, a Kingston shanty town and a Johannesburg township met in a bar one night and decided they should make music together.

STFU is bright, loud and in your face with a day-glo fun attitude – using 90’s nostalgia as a backdrop, Jarina De Marco invokes Ring Pops, Lisa Frank, Traperkeepers and Tamagotchis along with a children’s rhyme in Spanish, to create three minutes of riotous fun. There’s a feminist message behind it all, but wrapped up in a fun package that’s sure to please.
