New Music: KINOLECTRO – Rings on Every Finger

  • New Music: KINOLECTRO - Rings on Every Finger

Los Angeles duo Kinolectro (Dakota Blue and Jenny Nirgends) have launched themselves on to the world with two debut singles, one of which is a moody slice of electronica in the form of Rings on Every Finger.

It’s a dark and disorienting take on gothic electro, fusing sombre Germanic tones with Niregend’s icy female vocals and Blue’s more Bowiesque, post-punk sense of dissonant awe at the ways of humanity.

Tribal-inspired beats meld with languid synths to create a sound that invites comparisons with the likes of Ashbury Heights or Black Celebration era Depeche Mode, but the overall sensation is one of a band that takes the building blocks or synthpop and turns them in to something more experimental, more daring and for me, more pleasing.

You can stream and download Rings on Every Finger on Bandcamp. You can also keep on with the band via their Instagram and Twitter accounts.
