New Music: Lial – Heart Scars

London based Lial’s debut single Heart Scars sets a fine starting point for her career, and shows that we should expect good things in the future from the singer / songwriter. With a voice that sits somewhere between Kylie and Billie Ray Martin, Lial creates a hypnotically sensual sound, one that feels at ease on the track’s sparse and at times militaristic arrangement.

Heart Scars uses a predominantly downtempo vibe as a base to allow Lial’s voice to be the focus of the listeners attention, something it does easily with its ability to channel emotion and meaning with the slightest inflection in tone. Heart Scars is out now, streaming on Spotify as well as Soundcloud.
