New Music: LightHouse – Ships

  • New Music: LightHouse - Ships

LightHouse is Katya Richardson and Logan Nelson, two Los Angeles based classically trained musicians and composers who have turned to a more poppy and electronic sound as a means of artistic impression. The duo is off to a fine start with their debut release Ships, which you can hear below.

You can hear the classical influence in the way the duo use tone and structure to paint scenes and arouse emotions, but the track also takes inspiration from a more cinematic source, occasionally inviting favourable comparisons with the soundtrack work of Lisa Gerrard.

That’s not to say the track is portentous or introspective; Katya Richardson’s Jane Birkin-like vocals give it a warm and inviting feel, drawing you in to safety. Rather like a lighthouse does for ships in the hours of darkness in fact!

Ships is out now, you can find more information on how to stream and download the track by following this link.
