With their debut album Sleeping Visions fresh out of the block in digital and vinyl form, The American/German quintet Loveblind have revealed a video for one of the standout tracks, Goodbyes Without Goodbye. You can watch the clip below.
In keeping with previous singles War Planets and Daydream, the song sees Dorian Electrique produce a bravura vocal performance. The otherworldly tone suggests hints of Brian Molko and Nico in the way she can switch in tone from confident to fragile in an instant. The swagger and assuredness of the song – full-on post-punk, dark electro, and alt.rock – think IAMX meets Cocteau Twins – creates a sense of icy but upbeat grandeur throughout. It’s the perfect vessel for a song that feels like a clarion call, encouraging us to find a route through the darkest of times.
“Goodbyes Without Goodbye was the second/last song we used the KORG Electribe on. The sounds we are attracted to on the Electribe are very electronic, so the song definitely has that vibe. It takes a unique (some might say unusual) turn on the chorus, jumping back and forth between a dark throbbing beat and a hopeful, beautiful melody.”
Goodbyes Without Goodbye and Sleeping Visions are out now via Saint Marie Records, including a rather nifty bundle offer. You can catch up with news from Loveblind over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
