Australian Lupa J (aka Imogen Jones) is an electronic music producer and singer-songwriter who originally started in music playing the classical violin. She now finds herself creating wonderfully playful electro pop, such as on new single, Drift.
She says she discovered her love for electronic music through artists such as Grimes, FKA Twigs and Bjork, and you can hear that shine though in the way the song takes elements of pure pop – cadences, rhythms and more – and marries them to a singular, offbeat sound and musical vision.
The track possesses a real aura of confidence, of wilful and proud individuality that happily shares the spotlight with a groundedness in love and humanity; leaving the song to flow like a soothing balm as it talks about battling through adversity to come out even stronger.
And who couldn’t love that video!
Drift is out now on all major digital platforms including Spotify and iTunes. The song will feature on the upcoming Swallow Me Whole album. You can find out more by checking Lupa J’s Facebook, Twitter, rather cool Tumblr, and Instagram accounts.
