New Music: Men I Trust – I hope to be around

  • New Music: Men I Trust - I hope to be around

It doesn’t seem so long since Tailwhip, the last single from Men I Trust was released but the Montreal based trio are back, this time with a slightly more low key number called I hope to be around. Whereas Tailwhip has the same sense of smoothness and calmness, the new single channels a similar feel, but to more esosteric ends, as you can see and hear in the video below.

Talking about the inspiration behind the song, the band say it’s about “one’s desire to overcome the limits of the human lifespan in order to see the future and find meaning.

We filmed the music video in Montreal’s beautiful neighbourhoods and landmarks, of which many seem to be frozen in time around the end of the 60’s. The overall result is slow-paced, simple & powerful, contemplative and a bit nostalgic”.

I hope to be around is out now, streaming on Spotify and all other major platforms.  Check out their Tumblr for live dates in Canada, and the band promise more gigs further afield in 2018!
