New Music: mono mono – Feel

Danish duo mono mono return with a new single and music video, Feel, in preparation for their upcoming EP. It sees Karoline Elsig and Jakob Franck explore what it fast becoming their signature sound, dreamy electronica combining with powerful lyrics to take the listener to another world.

It’s a song that comes across almost as a companion piece to Rumors – light and airy in tone, making you feel as if you’re in the middle of a waking daydream, exploring the sweet nothings of the mind.

Karoline Elsig’s singing style and range invite comparison to Björk, with a similar sense of playful danger in every inflection, swimming with ease through the esoteric musical arrangement.

Lyrically the track addresses loneliness: the duo say they aim to illustrate complex human emotions through sound and on Feel they reflect on what the band refers to as ‘the feeling of a fight against loneliness and that things is going to be alright again’.

Feel is out now, streaming on Spotify as well as Soundcloud  – you can find out more here – and will also feature on the band’s debut EP which is due out early 2018.
