The curiously named Nah… is Amsterdam-based music-blogger Estella Rosa and Münster-based psychotherapist Sebastian Voss. An affectionate but not reverential take on prime 1980s indie, new single Perfect Game brought a smile to our faces.
Perfect Game makes no claims to greatness and therein lies its great, innocent charm. Subway Records of Bristol, 53rd & 3rd, and The Pastels are the most obvious influences on display here, though with a hint of The Cure present, like a lone cloud in a sunny sky. Jangling guitars and the earnest male vocals of Sebastian Voss are tempered not just by the sugar-sweet vocals of Estella Rosa, but also a sense of energy and joy that electrifies an already upbeat arrangement. The track demonstrates that the twee / C86 sound still has a lot of life left!
You can stream or download Perfect Game on all major platforms including Spotify. You can get more details on those options over on the duo’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter socials. Why not give them some social media love as well as keeping up with news about the song, upcoming album and more?
