Once upon a time, Ireland’s Power of Dreams found their deserved path to stardom was blocked by the vagaries of the music industry. They’re back in style though, with new song Across The Shannon – check it out below.

Aüslander, their first album in 25 years, promises to be a highlight of the year for indie fans on this showing, as well as being an impressive companion to the band’s back catalogue. Across The Shannon has echoes of indie, folk and AOR, but that fusion is one they helped to define and refine, so that’s no surprise. It’s a song of real beauty and quiet passion; a heartfelt reflection on the practicalities of love, delivered in a vocal performance that is laden with warmth and emotion.

“Many of the new songs are tracks that I have been keeping to one side in recent times in my job as a songwriter,” explains vocalist Craig (about the new album), “They were very obviously Power of Dreams songs. I have found the experience of looking back and reflecting a really interesting one. I would only have ever done this when I felt there was an artistic purpose to a new record.”

Across The Shannon is part of a double A-side single with America – out now via Cork’s FIFA Records. Be sure to check the band out over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and maybe throw them a follow to keep up with news about the song and upcoming Aüslander album.
