New Music: Paths – Right Beside You / Last One Standing

We featured PATHS in our Weekly Roundup back in January and said then that we thought she had a bright future. She’s certainly fulfilling that promise with the double release of Right Beside You and Last One Standing. Though it is a digital release PATHS has earmarked the tracks as the A and B sides respectively, a conceit I thoroughly approve of!

New Music: Noga Erez – Toy

Noga Erez is an Israeli musician, singer-songwriter, keyboardist and producer, currently working in collaboration with her partner and co-writer, composer and producer Ori Rousso.  On Toy they have cooked up an amazing confection of trip hop, left field electronica and sprinkled elements of witch house to create a skittering, sexy and seductive sound. In Review: Mr Kitty – A.I.

A few weeks ago we featured Crisis Point by Mr. Kitty in our Weekly Roundup and said at the time that if this track was anything to go by, the upcoming album A.I.  promised to be an instant favourite. After a few listens, it’s fair to say the album doesn’t disappoint. Read Mark’s review here.

New Music: Avec Sans – We Are

We at EN are very big fans of Avec Sans and whenever they play in our local area we make sure we catch them, gushing to anyone that will listen about how good they are. So it made us very happy indeed when we found out they were releasing a new single. Watch the video here.

New Music: Retro Kid – Retro Kid

Every now and again a track comes along that presses all your musical buttons; a hint of rave, a bit of house, a sprinkling of Pet Shop Boys style synthpop magic, all creating and infectious he wistfulness that reminds me of acts like The Beloved.  Retro Kid by the band of the same name does exactly that. The track has a slightly chilled out, old school feel to it without sounding dated. Watch the video here.

New Music: Jupiter C – Critical Mass

JUPITER-C have been active for a few years now, and  with the new EP which features the track Critical Mass it’s fair to say that the UK duo comprised of  Ashiya Eastwood (vocals and electronics) and David Kane (guitar and electronics) have perfected a sound that deserves to be heard more widely. Check out the title track here.

New Music: R. Missing – Kelly Was a Philistine

New York duo R. Missing recently released their debut EP Unsummering and the band has accompanied it with a video for the track Kelly Was a Philistine. It’s not a love song, in fact I’m not sure it’s even a like song – it’s an intelligent piece about the complexity of liking someone you probably shouldn’t. Check it out.
