The AT Blog //

Our blog is curated by the AT team, with a select group of friends and music aficionados also contributing content. Driven by the same passions as the label, we aim to give some much-deserved publicity and promotion to music and artists that can otherwise go uncovered and indeed, undiscovered by the more mainstream, trend driven press.

For us, the blog is a platform to showcase and celebrate the creativity and vision of musicians, artists and bands that we love, whilst giving us another opportunity to support new or emerging bands and artists as much as possible.

We hope you find something you like.

New Music: HÄANA – Salt

LA-based producer/violinist/vocalist HÄANA’s productions are akin to film scores: but the strings and bombast of a Hollywood soundtrack are replaced with epic Nordic Icelandic-tinged folk influences merged with modern digital and retro analogue sounds. She counts Massive Attack, Björk, and Trentemøller as influences on her work, some of which you can hear on her most recent release Salt.

Los Angeles duo EXES have released some amazing music over the last 18 months and their chilled cross of downtempo, synthpop and RnB has really caught on, with some of their tracks getting well over a million streams on Spotify. The Weekly Roundup 11.06.17

A fun weekend full of the fun but bizarre experiences you get in big cities – singing showtunes in a cabaret bar when you should really be back home in bed was fun for one!  Conversations about babies, festivals, music and politics that were passionate but positive and enlightening were among the many highlights. And of course, picking our way through the good-natured carnage that is Parklife Festival is always entertaining – watching people dressing for clubbing but wearing wellies and raincoats because … Manchester!  We had the AnalogueTrash 8th birthday this weekend and seeing so many people that have become our friends over the years was such a heart-warming experience after the last few weeks. There was so much love being shared this weekend it reaffirmed my faith in people – there is always darkness but together on the edge of life but like the song says, We Won’t Hate.  And with that, on to music I’ve loved this week!

New Music: Puzzle – Realign

Originally from Brazil but now based in London, Puzzle has a sound that’s primarily melodic electropop but if you listen closer, you’ll hear elements of soul, future R&B, dance and even gospel! The stunning ease with which he can mix such diverse influences can be heard on Realign and I highly recommend it.

New Music: Starling – Yellow Shoeshine

Some songs have an unusual theme or inspiration and Yellow Shoeshine by Starling is certainly one of them. She says the track is about having vomit on your shoe! The track has a similarly leftfield and strident approach to documenting the collapse of a relationship – watch the video here.

New Music: IRTH – Melt

IRTH (aka Marley and Jesse) are an electronic ghost-pop duo from British Columbia, Canada – the wonderfully named Salt Spring Island in fact! On their latest release Melt the band slowly unwind a slow and sensual duet, soft vocals gently washing over some chilled electronica and some very laid-back guitar licks.

New Music: Noy – Dazed In The Night

New York based Noy caught the attention of the people at National Geographic with her unique and chilled sound and it’s rather obvious to see how! She styles herself as a singer/songwriter, creating ‘music with a modern pop twist’ as she puts it. Citing influences ranging from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Amy Winehouse; she fuses those inspirations to induce a mellow euphoria in the listener. Here’s her latest track Dazed In The Night.
