New Music: Parralox – Electric Nights

Parralox is the musical brainchild of Australian singer / songwriter / producer John von Ahlen, and has a sound that leans heavily on classic dance music and occasionally retro sounds to whip up the sweetest musical confections. It’s a sound that comes close to perfection on Electric Nights which features lead vocals from Johanna Gervin.

The song, which also features backing vocals from von Ahlen himself as well as regular associates Roxy, Johnny X and Louise Love, is a fun number – high on energy, with a sound that is firmly rooted in the poppier end of the Parralox repertoire. With echoes of classic Europop and Kylie Minogue at her disco finest, Electric Nights just keeps hitting the listener with addictive hooks, a catchy chorus and an infectious upbeat atmosphere that’s sure to get your feet moving.

Electric Nights is out now via Subterrane Records, you can find out more about streaming, downloading or buying physical copies the track and EP here and here.

Parralox are currently writing and recording their new album which will be titled Genesis, and is due for release late 2018. You can check out more tracks by the band over on Spotify.
