There’s a heavy Californian flavour – or should that be flavor – to this week’s roundup. I guess with us missing the summer sun so much we decided to bring some West Coast warmth to us!
It may come as a shock to some, but we here at AnalogueTrash have a weakness for Scandinavian electronica, from pure pop to doomy drone. And while this week there’s a very American feel to the roundup, it won’t surprise many of you that the first track on this weekend’s roundup comes from Sweden. Let’s give it, and the rest of our roundup for this week, a listen.
I’m not sure if the Roundup has never featured at least one Scandinavian act, but that’s the situation this week! The focus is firmly on the Anglosphere – America, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK taking up the musical reins this time round with considerable aplomb.

January is almost over and the nights are getting shorter here in the UK, but the music keeps coming as regular as the morning sunrise… which leads us on to the ten picks for this weekend’s roundup.
The new year is well and truly under way as life returns to its new normal. With the festivities out of the way, thoughts turn to the future and for bands, their plans for 2018 kick in to action. One aspect of that is releasing new music, and getting people to hear it. That’s where we come in to play, which is a great cue for the first song.
Well, January is certainly under way, but music and musicians don’t work to a calendar! Instead they follow their own idiosyncratic beats and rhythms and the time is right when the music is right. The time was certainly right for our 10 hot picks this week – on with the first track of this week’s roundup.
It’s a new year, and many people look at it as being time for new beginnings or to wipe the slate clean. Some things won’t change though, and on of those things is our thirst for new music to enjoy. And so, on with this week’s roundup, which has a very Teutonic feel to it.
