New Music: Purest – Forever

  • New Music: Purest - Forever

The capacity of musicians to take disparate genres and sounds to create something exciting and new is one of the constant marvels of the art.  It can send a tingle up your spine when done right and Forever did the first time I heard it!

Sheffield’s Purest capture an upbeat ethereality that invites comparisons with electronic acts like Purity Ring but has layers of dreamy anthemic guitars to deliver a sound that takes some of the essence of shoegaze but in a compact, bright and catchy form.

It’s a song that’s ready-made for festival stages and sweaty, intimate gigs and should set the quartet on the road to much bigger things.

Released by London’s 25th Hour Convenience Store, the track is also available to stream on Spotify and iTunes. You can find out more about the band via their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
