New Music: SangLien – Insekts

Sydney’s 24 year old John-Alexander Matsos is SangLien. The multi-instrumentalist deploys and subverts his classical and jazz training to craft ethereal, down-tempo, electronic music. As a follow up to the well-received Somday, Matsos has released more dystopic downtempo in the form of Insekts.

Ellie Rose Giddings stars in the video, which is like a Brothers Grimm fairy tale in a modern setting, it’s unsettling but mesmerising visual techniques accentuating the almost Nordic darkness of the song.

Both tracks will feature on SangLien’s upcoming EP due for release via Beatle Soup. And check out the video  for Somday as well – it’s something special!
