Tidelands are a real family affair: not only is the band comprised of a husband and wife duo, but the track was also produced by Clint Holgate, the lead singer’s brother. That might explain the seamlessness that flows through High.
It’s the lightness of touch on High that really grabs you. Subtle references to the sound of Still Corners are present in the soft melody and honeyed vocals. But the song also has a clever way with utilising hooks; they’re very poppy and immediate but filtered and fine-tuned through an 80s-inspired pop-rock lens that gives the song a fresh and warm sound.
High is out now, for information on how to stream or download the song, check the band socials on Facebook and Instagram, maybe throw them a follow to keep up with news about the song, upcoming releases and more.
