Icelandic outfit Vök have returned after a short break with another slice of synth infused dream-pop perfection in the form of the silky aural pleasure that is Night and Day – have a listen below, you won’t be disappointed.
Margrét Rán’s vocals invite favourable comparisons with Lauren Mayberry And Frida Sundemo, their blend of soulful longing and joyful expressiveness creating a blissful happy-sad sensation.
The languid, rich texture to the synths is so smooth as to be seductive in its own right, but when combined with the emotive lyrics (about a relationship that is over, but only for one partner) and those moving vocals, the beauty of the song is impossible to resist.
Night and Day is out now via Nettwerk and is a taster for their upcoming album which is due out in early 2019. For more information on that as well as upcoming gigs and releases, you can catch up with the band on Facebook and Instagram.
