New Music: Whyte Horses – Never Took the Time

  • New Music: Whyte Horses - Never Took the Time

With a sound that is a perfect fit with bands like Saint Etienne and Stereolab, Manchester’s Whyte Horses take guitar pop to some rich and unexpected places with Never Took the Time.

Feather-soft vocals – courtesy of Leonore Wheatley and Mélanie Pain – imbue the track with an intoxicating combination of 60s pop and classic Manchester indie, but with a twist. Psychedelic folk nuances and lush strings are deftly added to the mix, creating a witches’ brew of orchestral majesty, summer jams and personal reflection.

The video is released just a few weeks before members of The Go! Team will join The Whyte Horses Experience (alongside La Roux, Badly Drawn Boy, Melanie Pain and St Barts Choir) headline show at Royal Festival Hall on September 13th.

You can find out more about the RFH event and the band’s upcoming Paris debut on their Facebook page and website. You can also get to see the band in their live glory if you are going to Green Man Festival.

Never Took the Time comes from the band’s Empty Words album which you can stream on Spotify and all major digital outlets.
