British act Zoot Woman – a studio trio but live duo – have been making waves since the 2001 release of their debut album Living in A Magazine. Members Adam Blake, Johnny Blake and Stuart Price have consistently released quality emotive electronica ever since and continue that fine run with their new single Ordinary Face.
Originally one of the pioneers of what became known as electroclash, over the years the band have ploughed their own musical furrow, creating gems like Ordinary Face with their blend of elements of rock, 80’s and 90’s pop. Tracks that are akin to musical porcelain – beautiful, fragile and tough in equal measure.
The accompanying lowkey video allows the song to breathe, with the faces capturing and amplifying the ambience of the track. Ordinary Face is out now and is also featured on the group’s latest album Absence which is out now.
