New Music: Stalgia – Spirit Animal

Stalgia is the joint project of Lauren Day and Brandon Leslie, childhood friends turned band mates. Spirit Animal sees the band continue of their musical explorations; marrying dark emotions and R&B sounds to create something amazing.

Day’s vocals are laid gossamer thin over a sparse drum line and subtle R&B style bass, with downtempo and ambient samples giving Spirit Animal a very other-worldly feel. Stalgia already have an impressive back catalogue and this track is a worthy addition, recently seeing them featured on Apple Music’s Best of the Week.
