New Music: TGC – Sophie

It’s been a while since we covered Secret Wedding from Norwegian/English electronic duo TGC (aka The Green Children), Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan. They make a triumphant return with the ethereal delight that is new track Sophie from their Parallels album, due out on the 8^th of July.

The TGC signature sound of chilled beats and thought-provoking lyrics is to the fore on Sophie. Milla’s vocals have never sounded so fresh yet cosmic; in a performance you want to let wash around you. The track invites comparisons with the contemplative electronica of acts like Enigma and Deep Forest in the way the music feels designed to draw calm unto the listener. It also taps into a sophisticated, almost synthwave essence, think Chromatics or Electric Youth, as it explores the mystical and mysterious.

Says Milla, “As a child I have a memory of being visited by an alien, and I’ve been searching for that being ever since…”
