London-based, Brighton-born Salt Ashes (aka Veiga Sanchez) released her second album, Killing My Mind, on November 5th via Radikal Records. She describes the LP as one that “explores all of the relationships in her life,” something you can hear with clarity on featured track, Body Says.

Killing My Mind by Salt Ashes

Pop with a purpose, the lyrics of Body Says get the mind thinking as the infectious melody successfully sets its sights on getting your feet moving. Madonna meets Moroder on a positive, powerful bop of a track, one that takes 80s New York electro and Euro Disco and makes them into a joyous and empowering listening experience. And there’s a whole album of gems like this!

Speaking about Body Says, Veiga reveals, “I wrote this with my producer Louis, which was a very enlightening experience as we wrote this from a female perspective. It was interesting to see how he understood the struggles women face on a night out without me even saying anything. I want this song to empower people but also just want to get down and fucking dance.”
