Experimental electronic pop outfit Phoria’s River Oblivion album – their third – is released in a matter of weeks.  They’ve given us another glimpse of what’s coming our way in the form of the aching beauty that is Portland.

Well into their third decade of creating music, the Trewin Howard helmed band has always pursued a path of their own on every release. Portland showcases their ability to summon up sounds and themes that seem to have a direct line to your soul.

On Portland, Phoria take electronica and pop apart and build them into something unified and new, as listenable and expertly crafted as it is endlessly inventive.

Reveals Howard about the inspiration behind the track, “Portland finally made it from a 12-year-old demo, to this new album. It’s totally different and has everything I’m feeling crushed into it. I’m sure everyone is getting a bit restless in their own skin/box at times lately. This song is a reminder to be angry about it.”

Phoria play a sold-out show at London’s iconic Union Chapel on the 27th of April. They also make an appearance at London’s Rough Trade East on the 15th of April for a live set and signing session.
