New Music: atmos bloom – Sea Legs

Manchester’s atmos bloom was formed by Curtis Paterson and Tilda Gratton. Now expanded to a live quartet and based in London, they follow up the success of their debut album Flora with the rich and dreamy sounds of Sea Legs.

There’s something entrancing and engaging about Sea Legs, due in no small part to the sonic reverie engendered by Gratton’s vocals. Their Harriet Wheeler meets Rachel Goswell style clarity and lightness is framed beautifully by the arrangement, which comes from a similar musical direction as bands like Alvvays, DIIV, and Beach Fossils. A whole album of this will be pure bliss.
