New Music: botaniste – Confession box

Of the nine tracks on the recently released botaniste album figure.23 – the musical project of Michaël Cloutier & Martin Savard – Confession box is a particular highlight. Its dark and doomy industrial rock sound has a raw and primal feel; allied with an intense vocal that will resonate with fans of Nine Inch Nails and occasionally Tool, with nods towards a punked-up IAMX.

Talking about Confession box, they reveal, “This song found a lot of different meaning through its evolution. But it’s mostly about a reality that created an inner fight between the rational and the emotional that was created by an outside force that can be interpreted in different ways.”

They say about the album, “As the past year brought many strange events in our realm, figure.23 became the reflection of the times and depicts a universe where everything is ephemeral, fleeting, dreamlike… ever-changing. the vibes fighting against each other within the stream of uncertainties.”
