New Music: Rose Brokenshire – Habit to Help
Rose Brokenshire is a Wildland Firefighter in the summertime, but she also has a passion for writing and recording music, something that makes her winters warm and bright. That love of music shines through on her latest single Habit to Help.
Moving from Toronto to the small town of Golden in British Columbia has brought about a lot of change, not just in her way of life, but also in how she writes and records her music.
Though threaded together with the most subtle of electronic shades, the overall feel of new track Habit to Help is that of a contemplative and confessional Americana and folk sound. Its immediate reference points are Joni Mitchell, Lucy Dacus, and Boygenius – equally holding its own against all three.

She discloses about Habit to Help, “This song is about learning to be there for yourself in difficult times, the way it is easy to be there for your friends.”
Habit to Help can be downloaded on Bandcamp, and streamed on Spotify and Apple Music, along with more music from Brokenshire’s back catalogue.
