New Music: BLOKE – Up Tight
Berlin-by-way-of-London noise and psych rock outfit BLOKE get primal on Up Tight, a track from their imminent Living Without Expectations EP.
Up Tight employs a sonic template similar to last year’s Money Says, layering some familiar, hypnotic Krautrock grooves under reverbed guitars and haunting vocals that carry a strong garage punk sensibility.

The song is far from an exercise in noise, it must be said. Lyrically, and in terms of its increasingly dark and dissonant progression to a suspenseful ambience, its emotional tale of obsession and mounting desperation and discordance wouldn’t be out of place on the soundtrack to a Dario Argento classic.
Lead singer Jacob Buraczewski says about those feelings, “These emotions are responding with such immediacy, mirroring the upbeat song structure. The escalating guitar distortion and tempo resonate deeply, creating a truly empathetic musical experience in this track.”
Up Tight is out now via Tonzonen Records, and Living Without Expectations is set for release on the 14th of February. For all the latest band and EP updates, make your way to BLOKE’s Instagram account.
