New Music: Friendship Commanders – MELT

Friendship Commanders – vocalist/guitarist Buick Audra and drummer/bassist Jerry Roe – gear up for the release of their BEAR LP with the searing sounds of MELT.

The Nashville duo are first and foremost a rock act, with the vocals and guitar unleashing wave after wave of raw rock energy. They’re not averse to looking outside that genre to bolster the mood and message of MELT, as the track has sonic whiplash moments where Seattle grunge and the baroque sound of Smashing Pumpkins make their presence known in emphatic and emotive fashion.

The song has a special meaning to the band, one all outsiders can identify with: “This is a song about being kicked out of where you thought you belonged, but finding where you truly belong instead.”
