New Music: ionnalee – bottomless blue

Ahead of revealing the first 2026 instalment of her MOUTH OF A RIVER project, Swedish alternative electronica icon ionnalee has shared bottomless blue.

The track is part of a decade-long experience, one that will find expression via over three albums due out this year. Despite that scale, bottomless blue works in and of its own right. Intimate vocally, yet with an ethereal sense of otherness, it has that nexus of past and present that makes ionnalee’s music so moving and eternal.

The music has the movement of the tides and the ripple of a mountain stream about it, full of an organic energy that may seem at odds with its origins in electronica. But that is what makes the music of ionnalee so groundbreaking and a sheer joy to listen to, whether here or on her recent collaboration with Florian’s Morning.
