Hadda Be – High Noon

Hadda Be – High Noon

South London quartet Hadda Be return to the fray after a relatively quiet period with the blistering post-punk of High Noon.

Compared to last year’s New to the Office, it leans less into their signature high-wire and clever fusion with echoes of Elastica and Sprints, instead taking the listener somewhere that is raw and driven.

With Stereolab’s Andy Ramsay once again on production duties, I hadn’t expected the track to be fuelled by what sounds like the song as conceived as a live experience, and that adds a thrilling edge to the track.

There’s plenty of nuance in the performances, most of all in the vocals, as they hit unrestrained highs and moments of melancholy. The track reached this form on the road, and the band – along with Ramsay – have brought that passion and versatility into the studio with this indie jewel.

Connect with Hadda Be on Facebook or Instagram for all the latest band news. You can listen to High Noon, which is out now as a joint release via Last Night From Glasgow and Bada Bing Records; previous releases from the band on Spotify and YouTube. The band are currently working on their sophomore album with Ramsay.
