Michael Oakley returns with a new album, Prologue, which features this gorgeous collab with Missing Words.

The Scottish-born singer and producer, now resident in Canada, has rarely sounded in better form than he does on this moody number; its intoxicating mix of Italo, vintage synths, and 80s-style adult rock is the perfect accompaniment for the enticing air of romance, if not outright seduction, engendered by the vocals.

No one does this reimagining of classic genres quite like Oakley does, because of his ability to evoke the spell of the past without falling under it. And if that’s not enough to sell you on the album, another track, Hurts Like Heaven, features the iconic Parallels.
