New Music: Shaemless – Said is Said

There’s an Irish connection or two on Said is Said, but it doesn’t prevent Dutch band Shaemless from forging their own musical identity.

With Daniel Fox of Gilla Band and Jamie Hyland of M(h)oal on production and mastering duties, respectively, there’s a noticeable and no-nonsense primal presence to the pace and power of the track. However, Shaemless aren’t that much in debt to either of those bands sonically. The acid-tinged post-punk of Said is Said harnesses similar raw textures to garage rock and the bleak fury of The Birthday Party, never staying still, buffeting the listener with unfiltered noise and emotion. On the evidence of this song alone, their upcoming sophomore album RIDE DEEP is definitely one to watch.

The band, who are set to tour the UK this October to tie in with the release of the RIDE DEEP album on the 1st of October, describe Said is Said as “a song about the never-ending cycle of hangxiety and the struggle to overcome.”
