Vampish, campish, and with tongue firmly in cheek, Precious sees Lady Di Mega Diva living up to her name.

It’s a cross between an 80s mega-mix and a radio jingle from the golden era of pop radio. The song and accompanying video make more than one reference to New York from that classic time, and that’s also a foundational source for this electro banger. Early Madonna, Chic, and some early hip-hop/electro sounds come through as you dive under its pop hood to hear the influence of Jellybean Benitez, Warp 9, and Hashim translated into delicious ear candy. Maybe you’re not meant to take Precious too seriously, but don’t doubt that a lot of craft has gone into its bouncy bubblegum form.

Says the New York based singer about Precious, “Tony Pietrafesa and I wrote this baby as the antithesis of my ballad, Green, as I am equal part deep drama girl, part strut-ur-stuff-ur-not-on-my-level baddie. Instead of getting angry at someone wanting to be like me, I’m like LADEEDA, WHO WOULDNT WANT TO! But in the end, you can’t be like me, and that is quite… precious!”
