New Music: BAD DATA – OUT AT NIGHT

Vermont’s BAD DATA bring a horror-themed approach to electroclash on new track, OUT AT NIGHT.

It’s definitely one for your Halloween playlists, but the spooky take on dance and indie that gives the song much of its energy – and fun – works all year round. Nothing is safe – especially vending machines – as BAD DATA take a walk on the wild side but find out that there’s wilder stuff out there in the midnight dreary.

What really got me liking the track so much is how it puts so much effort into world-building in what is essentially a (top tier) pop song. The Edgar Allen Poe and Thriller references stand out for me, but you can easily get lost in this sonic boom of a bop to catch the Easter eggs in the lyrics.

OUT AT NIGHT is out now and can be streamed on SoundCloud and Spotify. For artist news and other listening options, be sure to follow BAD DATA on Instagram or TikTok.
