New Music: Brent de la Cruz – Day To Day

Upbeat indie with a lot of heart and soul, Day To Day shows that Brent de la Cruz is as talented a musician as he is versatile as a vocalist.

The track skirts around indie pop, buoyant in its melancholy, even as the chorus packs an immediacy that allows it to linger in your memory.

And though the song does come under the indie pop umbrella, de la Cruz brings a post-punk and trap presence to the song via his vocals, as the filigrees of distortion in the production vault Day To Day way beyond an ordinary pop song.

“Day To Day was one of those songs that pretty much wrote itself,” shares de la Cruz. “99% of it was written, produced, and tracked in just a few hours. Some songs just bring a certain electricity into the room [and] this was one of those.”

Day To Day and previous single Smithereens are streaming on all music platforms, including YouTube Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify. For more listening and download options, follow Brent de la Cruz on Instagram. Oh, be sure to watch the amazing pyrotechnics that is the video for Smithereens.
