New Music: Brother. – Honey

Hailing from Provo in Utah, Brother. is Chuck Emery, Erika Goodwin, Nathan Standage and Elias Pratt. With a predominantly indie aesthetic, they show they can bring new vision to the genre with their recent single, Honey.

A funky, but decidedly post-punk bass line provides a smooth, flowing basis for a song that plays about with indie sounds and styles. Dreampop or shoegaze come to mind on hearing the vocals, for sure. But for all their lightness and the fresh tones of the lead guitar, the pinpoint percussion ensures the song has a brisk, worldly, and spiky edge to it.
