Dovetail finds the Gainesville, Florida, outfit finding a surprisingly cohesive route between indie and rock, and between light and dark tones in the arrangement.

The track also finds a way through a series of upbeat and wistful shifts in the arrangement and vocals, though the song always retains its spark and drive. Does the melodic rock of Ghost meets the hazy abstracts of Chapterhouse sound like an unusual and unexpected combination? With Dovetail, Chimes prove that opposites can work well together when you have the talent to pull it off. And they do, in great style.
