New Music: Ekkoes – You Got The Light

  • New Music: Ekkoes - You Got The Light

Ekkoes have been having an amazing year so far, supporting the likes of Erasure and Propaganda and now releasing their first single in two years; the sublime You Got The Light.

Hailing from the upcoming Kinetik album (now up for pre-order on Bandcamp), the trio know how to whip up a delicious pop confection, with the track coming off as similar to previous tracks such as Heaven.

A gorgeous piano riff sets the tone for four minutes of electronic seduction, Jon Beck’s vocals hitting a sweet point between vulnerability and sensuality. Throw in an epic guitar solo, anthemic synths with some wonderfully rich female vocals courtesy of Rosalee O’Connell and the result is a gem of a song that bodes well for the upcoming album.

You Got The Light also streaming on Spotify and other services. The band will be having two album launch gigs for Kinetik in September, one in London, the other in Sheffield – you can find out more on their Facebook page.
