New Music Graveyard Gossip – Choked

Graveyard Gossip are songwriter/producer Charley Smith and songwriter/vocalist Tuna. On Choked, the Portland-based, trans-fronted duo mine similar sounds and themes to TR/ST, Kontravoid, and Sacred Skin to great effect.

Dark electro and dark Italo with a mournful yet high energy edge, Choked explores the pitfalls or persevering with others against our own best interests. The vocals possess a hint of vulnerability within a strong performance, bringing the complex emotional contradictions exposed by the lyrics to life. As thoughtful as the song is though, it’s a gothic-tinged sad banger too, one that deserves to be enjoyed on the dancefloor.
