New Music: Hadda Be – Mercurial

British indie quintet Hadda Be comprises Amber Price (on vocals), Ben Richards (on bass), Matthew Sykes (on guitar), Jake Hall (on guitar), and Oliver Wareham (on drums). New track Mercurial is a taster for the band’s upcoming album, the follow-up to 2021’s Another Life. The accompanying video is rather cool and well worth a watch or two.

Fans of the sharp and shadowy post-punk and shoegaze sounds of the Another Life album will not be disappointed by Mercurial. Price’s lush yet affecting vocal style shepherds the track’s confident approach to the sombre, sometimes buzzy. but still deeply melodic side to the band’s music.

If you like blog favourites Palm Ghosts and Secret Shame, you’ll love the masterful melancholia at the heart of Mercurial. Another Life is sure to be joined by a second album of quality indie sounds, if Mercurial is anything to go by.
